Marcia's Poem of the Week 5 27 2022 “A GLIMPSE OF BELIEF” I drove my Mother to an appointment. We were passing a church with a huge stained glass window of Jesus sitting in a scene surrounded by nature. My Mother pointed at the window and said, "I talk to Him everyday." I then knew she believed and my heart was warmed.  Sunday's scripture reference was Psalm 19:1-4 “For the choir director: A psalm of David. 1. The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. 3. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world.” A GLIMPSE OF BELIEF    Psalm 19: 1-4 A church was on the corner,  Of a street where Mother lived,  She never went there ever,  To worship or to give.   But she pointed up at Jesus,  On the s...

Marcia's poem of the week 5 20 2022 THE PRODIGAL SON Luke 15: 11-32 Luke 15:20-24 New Living Translation 20 “So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. 21 His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’ 22 “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. 23 And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, 24 for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.   THE PRODIGAL SON Luke 15: 11-32 Jesus told the story to a people long ago, Of a son who ran away and a father who loved him so. The father sat at his window and ...

Marcia's Poem of the Week   John 17: 13-19    NLT 5/13/2022 John 17:13-19   13 “Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy. 14 I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 15 I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. 16 They do not belong to this world any more than I do. 17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. 18 Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. 19 And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.   BIBLICAL PARENTING  John 17:13-19  NLT God's Word teaches right from wrong, And includes life giving rules,  And sets limits true and strong, And enables life sharing tools.   The Bible as a tool is...

Renew a loyal spirit within me. 11 Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. 13 Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you.      …And Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd.   Marcia's Poem of the week 4/29/2022 “GODS WORD OF WISDOM”   Proverbs 4:20-27 NLT Pastor Jay's Sunday message was about the meaning of wisdom.  “Knowledge and the capacity to make use of it is wisdom.” Proverbs 4:20-27 NLT 20 “My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my Words. 21 Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, 22 for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. 23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. 24 Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. 25 Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. 26 Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. 27 Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.” GOD'S WORD OF WISDOM The Lord paid my ransom,  And pumps me with strength,  And hugs me to His bosom,  And frames how I think.   His Words make me grow,  A...

Marcia's Poem of the Week:     John 20: 1-10 NLT   “EASTER PEOPLE”    4/22/2022 John 20: 1-10 NLT  "1 Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. 2 She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, “They have taken the Lord’s body out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” 3 Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. 4 They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn’t go in. 6 Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, 7 while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. 8 Then the di...

Marcia's Poem of the Week (Luke 19:36-40 NLT)  36.As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him. 37.When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. 38.“Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord!  Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!” 39.But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” 40. He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!” And in (Ephesians 2:17-22) The body of Christ is described like the walls of a temple, 'built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone' (verse 20). We are all part of the wall that 'grows into a holy sanctuary in the Lord' (verse 21).  “BURST INTO CHEERS” ...
