Poem of the Week by Marcia “ FIRE IN YOUR HEART ” Exodus Chapter 3:1-22 Exodus Chapter 3 : 4)  When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”  5)  Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”  6)  And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. 17)  and I promise that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.”   "FIRE IN YOUR HEART" Exodus 3: 1-22   From God's burning bush, You can hear his call,  You can stand or run,  You can shun it all.   From God's burning bush, You can remove your shoes, Close your eyes, hide your face,

Marcia's Poem of the Week 7-23-21 "CONTENTEDLY SO”    For Sermon Series Valleys and Peaks -   Philippians 4:10-20   Paul said in Verse 11, “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances .”   For me Contentment is a work in process. I am in the constant state of learning the kind of trust that Philippians 4:11 tells us that Paul already knew.    "CONTENTEDLY SO"       Philippians 4:11   I am a Christ child, Since I've been found, I belong to God's Kingdom, And I'm heaven bound.   I want what I have, And I have more than enough, My blessings are many, I need no more stuff.   I've been found by the Lord, He's all that I need, My life has been chartered, And now it's complete.   I do what I can, As my Lord decrees, I walk in His footsteps, And He helps me succeed.   I know I am loved, Contentedly so, Through choices I make, God helps me to grow.   Marcia Riehle  2021

Marcia's Poem of the Week  Reflecting on Pastor Madigan's last Sunday's sermon from I Kings 18:36-38 & 19:1-4. Learning to trust God in the Valleys and Peaks. Elijah experienced ups and downs in his service to the Lord. One of those times is found in I Kings 9:1-4. (1) Now Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. (2) So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, "May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them." (3) Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, (4) while he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. "I have had enough, LORD," he said. "Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors."   VALLEYS AND PEAKS     I Kings 18:36-38 & 19:1-4 Ho

Marcia's Poem of the Week “A JOYFUL HEART”    Reflecting on Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones”     A JOYFUL HEART Proverbs 17:22   When your spirit's crushed, And dries up your bones, Seek the Lord to refresh, For you're not alone.   Just bring your crushed spirit, To the Lord in prayer. His promises are infinite, And He'll bless you there.   Joy will flood your heart, Bringing your bones to life, And God's love will impart. A wholeness that will purify.   For joy inspires believing, No medicine is greater, And joy promotes healing, A gift from your Savior.   Marcia Riehle 2021

Poem of The Week by Marcia Reflecting on Hebrews 12:1-2  “CHEERING US ON”  Hebrews 12:1-2 (1)“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, (2) fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”   “CHEERING US ON” Hebrews 12:1-2   The saints cheer us on, As we live each day, Rallying us to respond, To the Lord's love and way.   Every day is for change, To throw off things that hinder, And to avoid the tangles of sin, And to seek God in sweet surrender.   We're to run the race before, That's marked out for us, So we can then explore, Fixed and courageous.   Our pioneer and perfecter, Jesus our only guide, Chose joy and endured hatred,
