Marcia's Poem of the Week  Psalm 66:16-20 “Prayer Conquers Fear” 6/24/2022  Proverbs 29:25 “...whoever trust in the Lord is safe” Sunday's scripture lesson was taken from Psalms 66:16-20 “16 Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. 17 I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. 18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. 19 But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. 20 Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. Wednesday I went to the Doctor for my well visit. I noticed a sign in the office waiting room letting people know that if they get out of control the authorities will be called. Fear is the enemy. And my first thought after reading the sign was: am I safe? God's word tells us if ever there was a time for prayer, it is now. Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank

Marcia's Poem of the Week " WHERE DOES MY HELP COME FROM?"   Psalms 121:1-4 NIV  6/17/2022 In the past, on Sunday June 13 2010 12 PM, the Ohio State Stadium had 8,652 graduates. We drove to Columbus, Ohio to see my granddaughter graduate. She was one among 6,086 Bachelor Degree graduates. She was wearing a straw hat during Commencement, as you can see in this photo. (middle of the top row). And we were glad because we would have never been able to see her. But that is not true of God. He always knows where you are. Psalms 121:1-4 NIV “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” WHERE DOES MY HELP COME FROM? Psalms 121:1-4 NIV You try hard to climb many mountains, And you swim equally-hard through life's sea, Nature around you would hav

Marcia's Poem of the Week 6.10.2022 “BROTHERLY LOVE” 1 John 4:10-12 New Living Translation  “ 10 This is real love —not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God.  But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.” “BROTHERLY LOVE” Begin with a prayer each day, To remove misdeeds from your heart, And choose to humbly serve always, And show kindnesses from the start. Seek to build up each other, Where ever you happen to be,   And live in peace now and ever, Extending praises readily and free. Do not grumble against foe or friend, Speak truth from God's Word with love, And assist in relieving another's burden, By following the teaching of God above. Forgive the offender and the offense, Do not criticize another for wrong, Compromise and recompense,

Marcia's Poem of the Week “SING THROUGH THE BATTLE” 6/3/2022 2 Chronicles 20:21,  NLT : After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the LORD and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang: 'Give thanks to the LORD; his faithful love endures forever!' Psalm 95: 1-3 NLT 1 Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. 3 For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods. SING THROUGH THE BATTLE God is fitted for your battle, It is not up to you alone, When you find you're in trouble, His shield becomes your own. So take Him at His Word, And sing with all your heart, No fear can overwhelm or hurt, Love heals all that tears apart. His love for you prevails, It goes before and behind, And He covers all that ails, To soothe and calm your mind. Sing away all that
