Marcia's Poem of the Week 12.31.202 Sowers and the Soils  Regarding Scripture Luke 8: 4-8, The Parable of the Farmer Scattering Seed. 4 One day Jesus told a story in the form of a parable to a large crowd that had gathered from many towns to hear him: 5 “A farmer went out to plant his seed. As he scattered it across his field, some seed fell on a footpath, where it was stepped on, and the birds ate it. 6 Other seed fell among rocks. It began to grow, but the plant soon wilted and died for lack of moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender plants. 8 Still other seed fell on fertile soil. This seed grew and produced a crop that was a hundred times as much as had been planted!” When he had said this, he called out, “Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.” SOWERS AND THE SOILS Luke 8: 4-8 Four soils lie down underfoot, Where we walk about each day, Rocky, hard, thorny and fertile, Listen to what they have to say.   Marcia's Poem of the Week 12/24/2021 “THE GOOD WORK”   Reflecting on Philippians 1:6, "I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ returns," and on Micah 6: 8, “ O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. ”   Since we sin, salvation promises New Life in Christ. We still make mistakes, but Jesus bears the penalty for our sin whereby, we are free from all sin: past, present and future. We've been saved from sins penalty and are justified. Which means that the grace of God has sealed us permanently making us new, which is our sanctification (2 Corinthians 1: 20-22.) Once sanctified we are given the deposit of the Holy Spirit within. This gives us the power to do the right thing, though we are still subject to error. However, overtime we learn to resist sin by choo

Poem of the Week by Marcia 12-17-21 “LOOK”    A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on." Carl Sandburg. Scripture from Matthew 1:23,  Look! The virgin will conceive a child. She will give birth to a son, and they will call Him, Emmanuel which means 'God is with us.'”     LOOK!   We look for a better world, One without danger or pain, And God sent us His baby boy, So the world would not be the same.   We look for a peaceful life, One with a place of safety, But God's baby came in strife, To let us know He is our deity.   We look for money and power, One that gives access to everything, God sent a baby instead of power, We're not look for what the world brings.   We look for recognition and approval, One that will give us respect and attention, But God sent a baby boy for our perusal, And we may live without world recognition.   We look for a life of happiness, One with smooth sailing and a sm

Marcia’s Poem of the Week 12.10.2021   LIVE IN PEACE Scripture: Romans 12:18; Key Verse: "Do all that you can to Live in peace with everyone."     LIVE IN PEACE Lord, help us live in peace today, And hold on to what is good, And help us share Your loving way, And show affection as we should. Help us serve you with energy, In trouble, remind us to pray, Help us faithfully share hospitality, And take care in the words we say. Lord, should one desire to harm us, Help us ask a blessing over them, For it is true You're teaching us, But You are also teaching them. Let us keep hearing Your voice, So as to weep with those who mourn, And be joyful with those who rejoice, And able to keep from doing wrong. Lord, out of our plenty help us share, And respond with virtue in every way, Since the shadow of evil is everywhere, Light our path with peace each day. Amen.   Marcia Riehle 2021

For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.” Luke 17: 11-19; And, “Let us hold fast our Hope for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23. “Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible and achieves the impossible” Mother Teresa   “Hope reduces feelings of helplessness, increases happiness, reduces stress and improves our quality of life” Google THE ANCHOR OF YOUR SOUL Hebrews 6:19 Hope gives you a purpose, Especially depending on prayer, And if blinded by life's darkness, God's promise for you is clear.   Hope's purpose is the best kind, That can spread like seed, And can be seen in time, By awaiting its bloom to be.   For hope is strong in your bone, And affixed there by God above, And offers the sweetest home, In God's own land of love.   Earth's darkn
