Marcia's Poem of the Week 2.25.2022

Poem of the Week by Marcia  February 25, 2022 1 Peter 3:18 New Living Translation: 18 Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.   SAFELY HOME,   I Peter 3:18   The Model Church of Bible-days, Portrays the ones that exist today, Our church isn't named in its pages, But it's feet still lead the way.   The world rejects God's Way, Because of the world, it's not, And believers share the Word today, With a hope that will never stop.   Ages are measured by God's influence, As He passes along His Word, And the flow of love is continuous, To bring you safely home to God.   Marcia Riehle 2022     For my great grandsons: Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah   SAFELY HOME I Peter 3:18   God wants you to know the goal, Is to have His love come to be, And how your very heart and sou

Poem of the week by Marcia 2/18/2022 “GIFTS”   Peter 4: 10 NLT God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.  My aunt Norma always said she did not have a gift. But my aunt had so much love for others. She was gentle, sweet and always had a kind word for everyone. Like Aunt Norma, we may not see our giftedness, but God gave each one of us a spiritual gift.  Ask someone close to you about your spiritual gift. And if it seems impossible, ask God to help you see and believe in your spiritual gift.   “GIFTS” You have a spiritual gift, You may have more than one, Be encouraged to persist, On behalf of God's own Son.   Be done with evil things, As God demands us to, And do what love brings, Serving those around you.   Look for ways to give, It's part of God's good news, Helping others learn to live, Will bring peace to you.   Give your gift to the world, Do what you love to do, Stay in God's true word

Poem of the week by Marcia 2/11/2022 PRAY FOR THE CHURCH  Colossians 1: 9-10.  9) So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We asked God to give you complete knowledge of His will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10) then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. At age four, I rode my tricycle in front of our apartment. A woman from the Salvation Army invited me to Sunday School. She taught Bible stories and the part that stuck with me was God being my heavenly Father. When I came to realize that I had a heavenly Father that cared, I also learned that I could talk to Him through prayer. As well, the Church became my family. The church is your family too. The family of God needs your time, presence and prayer. And I believe you need His time, presence and care. PRAY FOR THE CHURCH  Colossia

John 4:23-24 NLT, “ But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.” IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH John 4:23-24 So painful is discipline, But more painful is sin, Without the gift of doctrine, What battles can we win?   If not for Truth given, Obtained from God's Word, We couldn't apply it to living, Or spreading into the world.   Many times the smack of truth, Is far more sweet and tender, Than a violent crash of proof, That deft deceit will render.   To hold onto God's way, And receive a spiritual boost, Worship Him every day, In Spirit and in Truth.   Marcia Riehle 2021     Poem for my great grandsons: Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah   I saiah 43:4 ...”Fear not for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are mine.”   My Dear Ones:   God's Holy Spirit shapes you, Your name's pressed on His lips, He sends heavenly angels, To keep y
