Marcia's Poem of the Week 10-13-2023 “THE WORD”

I Thessalonians 2: 9-13 NLT 9. Don’t you remember, dear brothers and sisters, how hard we worked among you? Night and day we toiled to earn a living so that we would not be a burden to any of you as we preached God’s Good News to you. 10. You yourselves are our witnesses—and so is God—that we were devout and honest and faultless toward all of you believers. 11. And you know that we treated each of you as a father treats his own children. 12. We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory. 13.  Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

“THE WORD”

There is a code of behavior,
Made by the Lord for use today,
Read about it to utilize His favor,
And walk His narrow way.

It is not as hard as you think,
Start by thanking and praising Him,
And take His Word for food and drink,

And each morning start over again.

His path is the one less traveled,
So be alert as you walk His way,
Know if you veer you will unravel,
And may sadly lose your way.

Our spiritual path is lit by God's Word,
And is protected with His guarantee,
And everywhere the Word is heard,
Resides in confidence, strength and safety.

Marcia's Poem of the week for great grandsons, Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah. THE WORD: Thessalonians 2:13 "Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn't think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God -which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe."

THE WORD

What is the truth that you've heard,
Is it what the Lord wants you to do,
Know you need to learn His Word,
And your faith will see you through.

Doubt comes from the hidden or inferred,
Where fear or hurt clouds your mind,
But when you seek after God's Word,
The best answer will be there to find.

You can lean on the Lord above,
And be comforted at His open door.
And be filled with peace and love,
With the promise of so much more.

And you'll mature in faith as you read,
His Word will grow clearer as you pray,
And as you seek you'll have all you need,
To keep your heart open to His way.
