Marcia's Poem of the Week “UNDIVIDED DEVOTION"

Scripture NLT: 1 Corinthians 7:32-35: “I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs—how he can please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife— and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband. I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.”

Ezekiel 11: 19-20 19 And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, 20 so they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.

“UNDIVIDED DEVOTION"

Undivided devotion is God's design,
And is posed to mend all that's broken,
He helps you focus on using your time,
So you'll not stray from His devotion.

But should you drift from His goal...
Or should the enemy threaten,
He'll oversee and shield your soul,
Using every tool at His discretion.

He removes distractions you assume right,
When it's at His side you choose to be,
He ends worldly affairs that woos your sight,
And makes His Spirit and your soul agree.

He'll clear your view to see His Words,
And remove all things that distract,
The singleness of Heart that He deserves,
Is where undivided devotion will interact.

Marcia Riehle 2023"

Marcia's Poem of the Week for my great grandsons, Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah. Scripture verse: Proverbs 4:25-27 New Living Translation: 25 Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. 26 Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. 27 Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.

“UNDIVIDED DEVOTION"

Make my heart to be brand new,
Grow me up in the work You do.
Let the church be my guiding Light,
And let it be where I shine bright.
I will honor You in my every day,
In my living, my work and play.
As my mind fills with Your Word,
Help me live what I have learned.
No matter how young or old I be,
Thank you Lord for being with me,
End wrong desires and illicit emotion,
And gift me with undivided devotion.
