Marcia's Poem of the Week 8.2023

Marcia's Poem of the Week, 8.18.2023  “In The Beginning”

Genesis 2:18-25 NLT:  18. “Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” 19 So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. 20 He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening.  22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man. 23 “At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’” 24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. 25 Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame.

IN THE BEGINNING

In the beginning a story was told
How a proud Father hosted a wedding of old.
The Father unlocked His treasury from heaven
To celebrate on earth the most perfect union.
Between Adam and Eve created He them
To love and to cherish from beginning to end.
With choicest preparation a garden was grown
And presented unto them a place to call home.
He gave them dominion with authority they walked.
Creatures were named and with God they talked.
The bond between them designed from above
Was created from perfection, created from love.
His gift was to bless them and with them live
Divine inspiration compelled Him to give.
With Fatherly care He shared everyday
Their tears, laughter and their work and play.
The Father's heart was exclusively tuned
To their relationship that was daily renewed.

The wedding today brings the same new start.
For the Man and Woman will now become part
Of the oldest plan created for humankind
To love each other and receive peace of mind.
To walk in the garden His presence to know
So like the garden the relationship will grow.
To lean and depend on the Father alone
So wisdom and mercy can become their own.
To walk hills and valleys of the garden life
Together, and weather the storms and strife.
To remember that this is the Father's plan
And with that assurance walk hand in hand.
For the Father decided we need not be alone
And brought each couple together as one.

Poem of the week for Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah. “IN THE BEGINNING” Scripture Reference: Ephesians 3:18–19 NLT “18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

“IN THE BEGINNING”

God's Word makes your world right,
As it gives His love for all eyes to see.
Day one brought dark and light,
And day two the blue sky came to be.

God made land and sea on day three,
As well as the expanse of living plants.
And some grow in the deep blue sea,
While others grow on the dry lands.

Day four began with quite a shine,
From the sun, the moon and stars.
Heaven expanding was God's design,
Of planets like Venus, Pluto and Mars.

Day five God breathed life into all
Of the birds and creatures for us to see.
On day six animals both great and small,
Were created when humans came to be.

He made the world filled with Good,
And gave it to all to share as a right.
Then on day seven creation was secured,
And God being pleased rested in delight.

Taken from the Internet: The Bible describes the creation of the world in Genesis 1:1-2:3

Day 1: God created light and separated the light from the darkness, calling light "day" and darkness "night."
Day 2: God created an expanse to separate the waters and called it "sky."
Day 3: God created the dry ground and gathered the waters, calling the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters "seas."
Day 4: God created the sun, moon, and stars to give light to the earth and to govern and separate the day and the night.
Day 5: God created every living creature of the seas and every winged bird, blessing them to multiply and fill the waters and the sky with life.
Day 6: God created the animals to fill the earth. And finally, God created man and woman in his own image to rule over the earth and to enjoy fellowship with him.
