Marcia's Poem of the Week 6.16.2023

Marcia's Poem of the week,  6 16 2023 “OPENED DOOR”

Matthew 10: 1-4 Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles 1. Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness. 2. Here are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (also called Peter), then Andrew (Peter’s brother), James (son of Zebedee), John (James’s brother), 3. Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew (the tax collector), James (son of Alphaeus), Thaddaeus, 4. Simon (the zealot), Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).

God "had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles" (Acts 14:27). The Lord opened a door to “preach Christ's gospel” (2 Cor 2:12).

OPENED DOOR

Christ's authority is an opened door,
And it is up to you to step through.
As soon as your foot hits the floor,
His power and presence comes through.

He brings the promise of resurrection,
With the surety of eternal life.
He guides you in the right direction,
Walking through troubles and strife.

Like His disciples in days of old,
You take the Holy Spirit with you.
You read and hear the stories told,
Of how His love secures you.

Like His disciples it is you He entrusts,
And you gain His knowledge and power.
When you look for Him you'll gain trust,
And feel His goodness every hour.

He became poor to give you abundance,
And became a servant to give you liberty.
He went homeless to give you substance,
And was rejected for love's guarantee.

He went hungry so that you could be fed,
And became weary that you be rested.
He went homeless to give you a bed,
And was stripped that you'd be vested.

He was bound so as to set you free,
And died to give you life and more.
Know His love is your guarantee,
Giving access to His opened door.

He went homeless to give you a bed, Poem of the week for Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah.  Revelations 3:8 "I know all the things you do and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me."

OPENED DOOR

Our Lord has opened a door,
It's open to the world around you,
It's given you His strength and more,
As you obey His word in what you do.

For He can see how you care,
And loves you for your effort,
And each time that you share,
You give another one comfort.

The Lord is the opener of your door,
And He notices you from above,
When you work, share and do more,
You'll be showing how God loves.

Thank Him now for your opened door,
For today you're learning to be faithful.
And as you live and obey His word,
Your obedience will become unshakeable.
