Marcia's Poem of the Week 5/26/2023 “THE LORD'S WORD” 

The power of the Lord's word convicts of sin, teaches truth and leads to righteousness.  

I Peter 2: 1-10 NLT 1. So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. 2. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, 3. now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness. 4. You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor. 5. And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. 6. As the Scriptures say,“I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, chosen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 7. Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.” 8. And,“He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. 9. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 10. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”


THE LORD'S WORD

Your steps will not grow weak,
When the Lord's Word walks with you.
Your relationship will be unique,
For the Lord's Word will up-lift you.

You will not be defeated into silence,

For the Lord's Word speaks boldly.
You will not be veiled in darkness,
For the Lord's Word shines brightly.

You will not grow weary by the day,
For the Lord's Word supplies energy.
You will not dry up and wither away,
For the Lord's Word quenches the thirsty.

You will not be tempted to stray or fall,
For the Lord's Word will intervene.
Your heart will not be stained by it all,
For the Lord's Word will keep it clean.

Your hope for eternal life and peace,
Is in the Word you've read and heard.
Be not challenged in your belief,
It's time to live life in His Word.

Poem of the Week for my great grandchildren: Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah. Scripture: I Peter 2:9. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

“THE LORD'S CHILDREN”

The Lord's word is wisdom to you,
As He helps you understand,
And His word moves in what you do,
As He holds you close in hand.

He helps you to truly listen,
So you can feel His care,
The Lord knows your innocence,
And He shows His love is there.

The Lord walks with you each day,
And fills you with His rest,
For He shows you the right way,
So others will also be blessed.

You are His prized possession,
You are to know you're worthy,
His word tells you of His direction,
As you live and love in His mercy.

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.”   “ ONE WHO SERVES”   Each En-Gedi God creates, Where a servant is assigned, Is to exemplify integrity, And bring unity to mankind.   To pray for those that serve, Is a joy and privilege, For the nature of a call, Is to love and encourage.   For together we are stronger, And together we are one, For God loves His people, And leads us through His Son.   Where we learn His holy word, And receive His Spirit's peace, We are sealed by His blood, Where fear and worry

Marcia's Poem of the Week 8.13.2021

  Marcia's Poem of the Week Reflecting on Genesis 45:4, 5, & 9-11 “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” Forgiveness is really difficult. But holding an unforgiving spirit can make one sick. This story was one of the best stories for me to understand that God shows us how forgiveness works. Joseph could have been angry with his brothers and with God. And who could blame him. How many times have you been angry with God or someone else? Joseph was able to see that God's work took time. You can be sure that when you are hurting God is working to make things right. Talk to God, be patient, wait and watch Him work. God will take care of you.  In Genesis 45 we can read how God took care of Joseph and his family. Genesis 45: 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer.
