 Marcia's Poem of the week 4.14.2023 “The Resurrection” 

John 20: 1-6 NLT  Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. 2 She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, “They have taken the Lord’s body out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” 3 Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. 4 They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn’t go in. 6 Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, 7 while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. 8 Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— 9 for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. 10 Then they went home.


EXTRAORDINARY LOVE

No one other than the Lord,
Was able to love me so much,
He came to give me His holy word,
And the Holy Spirit's touch.

And had He not gone before,
I would not have such hope,
His care and love and much more,
Was given to help me cope.

For I once lived in darkness,
With no where else to turn,
Until His love gave me forgiveness,
Along with a new life I didn't earn.

The Lord gave me His Holy Spirit,
A gift that makes me equipped,
To know Him and to submit,
So as to receive faith and fellowship.

Now whenever I feel scared or troubled,
Or when pain is more than I can bear,
I have a Lord who keeps me grounded,
And gives me His love to share.

EXTRAORDINARY LOVE

Jesus made a special trip,
And came to Earth just for you,
He knew you needed His gift,
For you and He have much to do.

It is His longing that you know Him,
And know His precious word,
And He desires that you love Him,
And love all who have not yet heard.

For it is He who puts life in all you do,
And both light and life are yours today,
You'll see the light grow bright within you,
As you help others find new life His way.

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table?   Marcia's Poem of the Week Reflecting on Genesis 45:4, 5, & 9-11 “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” Forgiveness is really difficult. But holding an unforgiving spirit can make one sick. This story was one of the best stories for me to understand that God shows us how forgiveness works. Joseph could have been angry with his brothers and with God. And who could blame him. How many times have you been angry with God or someone else? Joseph was able to see that God's work took time. You can be sure that when you are hurting God is working to make things right. Talk to God, be patient, wait and watch Him work. God will take care of you.  In Genesis 45 we can read how God took care of Joseph and his family. Genesis 45: 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer.
