 Marcia's Poem of the Week 2 17 2023

 “THE LORD RESCUE YOU TODAY”  

Exodus 13:7&18 / 17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.


Exodus 14: 5-6 / 5 When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, “What have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!” 6 So he had his chariot made ready and took his army with him.

Exodus 14:10-13 / 10 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. 11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”

Key Verse: Exodus 13: 13 But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again.”

THE RESCUE

The Lord will rescue you,
You need only to stand still,
He has a work to finish in you,
To bless and keep you fulfilled.

He is the finder and finisher,
Of all things made,
And because He's the rescuer,
You need not be afraid.

God will part deep waters,
And make the sea-bed dry,
So His sons and daughters,
Safely reach the other side.

Place trust in His leading,
As He fills your heart with love,
Welcome His interceding,
And receive gifts undreamed-of.

Poem of the week for my great grandsons, Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah.   Isaiah 43:1-2“but now, this is what the Lord says, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you O Israel, “fear not for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name, you are mine.” 2: When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

Key verse: “fear not for I have redeemed you;”

“FEAR NOT” Isaiah 43:1-2

The Lord is all you need,
Ever present is His powers,
And He'll open your eyes to see,
The works He most desires.

The Lord calms every fear,
And His Word is truth-telling,
He bottles up your every tear,
And His love is ever flowing.

His vision is set to watching,
So as to make your living right,
His hands are set to reaching,
In order to hold you tight.

So proceed forward in peace,
Where the truth in life will unfold,
And when your Lord is believed,
Every life redeemed will be extolled.*

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.”   “ ONE WHO SERVES”   Each En-Gedi God creates, Where a servant is assigned, Is to exemplify integrity, And bring unity to mankind.   To pray for those that serve, Is a joy and privilege, For the nature of a call, Is to love and encourage.   For together we are stronger, And together we are one, For God loves His people, And leads us through His Son.   Where we learn His holy word, And receive His Spirit's peace, We are sealed by His blood, Where fear and worry

Marcia's Poem of the Week 8.13.2021

  Marcia's Poem of the Week Reflecting on Genesis 45:4, 5, & 9-11 “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” Forgiveness is really difficult. But holding an unforgiving spirit can make one sick. This story was one of the best stories for me to understand that God shows us how forgiveness works. Joseph could have been angry with his brothers and with God. And who could blame him. How many times have you been angry with God or someone else? Joseph was able to see that God's work took time. You can be sure that when you are hurting God is working to make things right. Talk to God, be patient, wait and watch Him work. God will take care of you.  In Genesis 45 we can read how God took care of Joseph and his family. Genesis 45: 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer. And he said again, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into slavery in Egypt. 5. But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place.
