Marcia's Poem of the Week Matthew 2:1-10 NLT

 “ THE SIGN”

Matthew 2: 6 ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.’ 7 Then Herod called for a private meeting with the wise men, and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared. 8 Then he told them, “Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child. And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!” 9 After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!

THE SIGN

The day Christ was born,
There were those looking for Him,
Because He brings promise,
For everyone's lives to begin.

Are you too looking for the One,
You need not look for the star,
Because when you look for Him,
He'll be right there where you are.

He is the one who loves you,
And the one who will be there,
And the one who knows you,
And the one who'll always care.

You can wait your life through,
For that one perfect moment,
Even if you struggle and strive too,
Know you can receive atonement.

The Lord loves you so much,
So, seek to be with Him,
And what He starts He'll finish,
So seek Him to the end.

Poem of the week for my great grandsons: Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah. Key verse: Matthew 2: 6 “And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.”

The Sign is Jesus

His Spirit wakes you bright and bold,
Which is your morning sign,
To get up, get dressed and to go,
And to leave your sleep behind.

You're to keep only what you've learned,
And perhaps store it for future use,
And make it through each new day,
To live with love and peace.

Still.. it's early morning as you dress,
And then you make your bed,
You then decide what's for breakfast,
As you comb each hair on your head.

Your Lord is watching over you,
Through everything you do,
He loves and He cares for you,
And He protects you too.

As with time the day moves on,
Be grateful for life's living things,
And as you take each hour on,
Welcome the love God brings.

When darkness begins to hover over,
Again the day's-end draws near,
Bringing the prayer of your heart closer,
To the place where God is dear.

And so goes each hour of each day,
As you call upon His precious name,
And you claim His power and His way,
You'll know His Spirit remains the same.
