 Marcia's Poem of the Week 10-14-2022

 REBUILD Haggai 1:2–8 NLT  “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: The people are saying, ‘The time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the Lord.’ ” 3 Then the Lord sent this message through the prophet Haggai: 4 “Why are you living in luxurious houses while my house lies in ruins? 5 This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! 6 You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but are not satisfied. You drink but are still thirsty. You put on clothes but cannot keep warm. Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes!  7 “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! 8 Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and rebuild my house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord."


REBUILD Haggai 1:2–8 NLT

A call comes from the Lord,
For all of His people to hear,
Live in the guidance of His word,
For living in luxury brings fear.

Many are unsatisfied today,
Many churches are dying or in ruins,
We work to make our own way,
With little time for God's doings.

We eat and we're filled, but cursed,
That's why we are still hungry,
We drink to quench our thirst,
Yet, we are still thirsty.

Our wages vanish as foretold,
And our pockets have many holes,
We feel unclothed and exposed,
Yet, we wear many nice clothes.

We're to search for that lost one,
And learn again how to be kind,
To rebuild God's house full and strong,
For it is His people we're to find?

We need not have so little a harvest,
For we can bring the lost into the fold,
Prayerfully seek His people first,
And He'll be pleased and honored as told.

BUILD EACH OTHER UP

God made you a brother,
To do things like you can do,
And to love your other brothers,
For all the days through.

To smile and give big hugs,
And help them learn what's new,

To hold their hand with love,
And watch over things they'll do.

A brother has a very important part,
With a special place forever,
That's where you share your heart,
And be a loving family together.

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.”   “ ONE WHO SERVES”   Each En-Gedi God creates, Where a servant is assigned, Is to exemplify integrity, And bring unity to mankind.   To pray for those that serve, Is a joy and privilege, For the nature of a call, Is to love and encourage.   For together we are stronger, And together we are one, For God loves His people, And leads us through His Son.   Where we learn His holy word, And receive His Spirit's peace, We are sealed by His blood, Where fear and worry

Marcia's Poem of the Week 8.13.2021

  Marcia's Poem of the Week Reflecting on Genesis 45:4, 5, & 9-11 “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” Forgiveness is really difficult. But holding an unforgiving spirit can make one sick. This story was one of the best stories for me to understand that God shows us how forgiveness works. Joseph could have been angry with his brothers and with God. And who could blame him. How many times have you been angry with God or someone else? Joseph was able to see that God's work took time. You can be sure that when you are hurting God is working to make things right. Talk to God, be patient, wait and watch Him work. God will take care of you.  In Genesis 45 we can read how God took care of Joseph and his family. Genesis 45: 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer. And he said again, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into slavery in Egypt. 5. But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place.
