 Marcia's Poem of the week  “IDENTITY” 

Luke 9: 1-9 NLT “9 One day Jesus called together his twelve disciples and gave them power and authority to cast out all demons and to heal all diseases. 2 Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 “Take nothing for your journey,” he instructed them. “Don’t take a walking stick, a traveler’s bag, food, money, or even a change of clothes.  4. Wherever you go, stay in the same house until you leave town. 5 And if a town refuses to welcome you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate.” 6 So they began their circuit of the villages, preaching the Good News and healing the sick.”


IDENTITY

The Lord calls you and I together,
And gives us power only He can give,
Needing us to love one another,
And to show the lost how to live.

He sends us to make things right,
And to help heal those hurt and sick,
And to not be hindered, but travel light,
No packed bag or walking stick.

Bring God's word along your way,
With prayer and worship and respect,
And if rejected, turn away,
Should any choose not to accept.

For God empowers His disciples,
To help those who are worn and weak,
And to cast off the evil sources,
With His Spiritual-walking stick.

For He gifts you with clean-living,
You need not worry about what to wear,
Nor be loaded down with belongings,
For He frees you to serve and share.

Let the Holy Spirit fill you and lead,
For whatever it is that you find,
Should you not be well received,
Leave the dust on your feet behind.

Poem of the week for my great grandsons, Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah  Matthew 18:4. “So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Dear, Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah,

THE GREATEST

Should you ever be heartbroken,
And in need of cheering up,
Or, should you feel saddened,
In need of a meaningful hug.

Know your God is loving,
And will always treasure you,
And will listen when you're praying,
And will always be there too.

You are a very special person,
And God wants you to know,
You're greatness is known in heaven,
For God does love you so.

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.”   “ ONE WHO SERVES”   Each En-Gedi God creates, Where a servant is assigned, Is to exemplify integrity, And bring unity to mankind.   To pray for those that serve, Is a joy and privilege, For the nature of a call, Is to love and encourage.   For together we are stronger, And together we are one, For God loves His people, And leads us through His Son.   Where we learn His holy word, And receive His Spirit's peace, We are sealed by His blood, Where fear and worry

  Marcia's Poem of the Week Reflecting on Genesis 45:4, 5, & 9-11 “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” Forgiveness is really difficult. But holding an unforgiving spirit can make one sick. This story was one of the best stories for me to understand that God shows us how forgiveness works. Joseph could have been angry with his brothers and with God. And who could blame him. How many times have you been angry with God or someone else? Joseph was able to see that God's work took time. You can be sure that when you are hurting God is working to make things right. Talk to God, be patient, wait and watch Him work. God will take care of you.  In Genesis 45 we can read how God took care of Joseph and his family. Genesis 45: 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer.
