 Marcia's Poem of the week 7-22-2022 - Hebrews 4:12-14 & Matthew 11:28-29. The photo taken is seven of my great grandchildren ranging in ages 8 years to 3 months old. They are resting on the couch long enough to take their picture.😅


ENTERING GOD'S REST Hebrews 4:12-14  “12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. 14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.”

ENTERING GOD'S REST Hebrews 4:12-14

Living and active is God's Holy Word,

It is sharper than a two edged sword.


It penetrates the body whole,
That divides joints, marrow, spirit and soul.

It exposes thoughts and attitudes that are right,
And nothing is hidden from our Lord's sight.

Everything's laid bare before His eye,
And it is before Him that we live and die.

So believe in the Lord who loves you so,
Let Him be with you wherever you go.

Lean and depend on Him and do your best
To make your heart soft and enter His rest.

SURVIVING STRESS Matthew 11:28-29 (NLT) 28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

SURVIVING STRESS Matthew 11:28-29

Sometimes you may feel unloved,
And have lost all sense of warmth or light.
Though you've done all you can think of,
You feel like something's not quite right.

Remember, "Come to me" said Jesus,
When you're burdened by your day,
For it is He who sets you free,
As you take His yoke and learn His way.

Seek after that special moment,
For the Lord's peace and grace,
Will make your heart transparent,
And burdens will perish in that place.

He enables you to love others,
And gifts you and makes you whole,
And He'll merge His Spirit to yours,
Where you'll find rest for your soul.

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table?   Marcia’s Poem of the Week 12.10.2021   LIVE IN PEACE Scripture: Romans 12:18; Key Verse: "Do all that you can to Live in peace with everyone."     LIVE IN PEACE Lord, help us live in peace today, And hold on to what is good, And help us share Your loving way, And show affection as we should. Help us serve you with energy, In trouble, remind us to pray, Help us faithfully share hospitality, And take care in the words we say. Lord, should one desire to harm us, Help us ask a blessing over them, For it is true You're teaching us, But You are also teaching them. Let us keep hearing Your voice, So as to weep with those who mourn, And be joyful with those who rejoice, And able to keep from doing wrong. Lord, out of our plenty help us share, And respond with virtue in every way, Since the shadow of evil is everywhere, Light our path with peace each day. Amen.   Marcia Riehle 2021
