 Marcia's Poem of the Week July 15, 2022 

“GOD'S WORD” Hebrews 4:8-13  "8 Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come. 9 So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. 10 For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. 11 So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. 12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable."

 

THE FALL

The Fall changed everything,
The world began to die,
People were awakened to evil,
And ran away to hide.

They were cast into the abyss,
Existing on barren lands,
As laborers in a mist,
Working with sweaty hands.

But the struggle wasn't for nothing,
It came with its reward,
And turned nothing into something,
By following God's Holy Word.

So know when you struggle,
When you feel your about to die,
Your Lord is sending blessings,
So you no longer have to hide.

Bring forth the best you can do,
Lay it at the Lord's feet,
And know He wants to bless you,
And make your life complete.

GOD'S WORD

Christian boys and girls like you,
Can bring love and comfort too,
For those who are sad and blue,
And need help to see them through.

Read the Word of God every day,
And set aside quiet time to pray,
And then you'll know what to say,
To help others find God's way.

For it is the Holy Spirit's care,
That is needed everywhere,
And when your ready to share,
His love will remove despair.

Know your heart will change,
And that you'll fill with love too,
For His word makes it plain,
That His love will reward you.

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.”   “ ONE WHO SERVES”   Each En-Gedi God creates, Where a servant is assigned, Is to exemplify integrity, And bring unity to mankind.   To pray for those that serve, Is a joy and privilege, For the nature of a call, Is to love and encourage.   For together we are stronger, And together we are one, For God loves His people, And leads us through His Son.   Where we learn His holy word, And receive His Spirit's peace, We are sealed by His blood, Where fear and worry

Marcia's Poem of the Week 8.13.2021

  Marcia's Poem of the Week Reflecting on Genesis 45:4, 5, & 9-11 “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” Forgiveness is really difficult. But holding an unforgiving spirit can make one sick. This story was one of the best stories for me to understand that God shows us how forgiveness works. Joseph could have been angry with his brothers and with God. And who could blame him. How many times have you been angry with God or someone else? Joseph was able to see that God's work took time. You can be sure that when you are hurting God is working to make things right. Talk to God, be patient, wait and watch Him work. God will take care of you.  In Genesis 45 we can read how God took care of Joseph and his family. Genesis 45: 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer.
