 “SALVATION”

The attached photo is of my three great grandsons dressed up as superheroes. Superheroes save the day. But bad things do happen. However, when we choose to believe we will receive the ultimate super power in our own lives, the power of the Holy Spirit.  Ephesians 2:4-10 says, “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

SALVATION” Ephesians 2:4-10 NLT

Spiritual birth is not of works,
So that no one can boast,
But it is a gift of God,
For He is forever our host.

We’re to give God the glory,
And turn our lives to Him,
And make His ways our ways,
So our new life can begin.

No longer are we dead inside,
Nor do we desire dark places,
Our lives show we need not hide,
By the glow upon our faces.

Our soul will no longer cry out,
Our hearts will no longer sob,
Our bodies will grow strong all about,
Because of the love of God.

Our tears are tears of joy,
And temptation is a test,
We walk and talk with hope,
Because we bask in Jesus’ rest.

Now we've been reborn,
When once we were dead in sin,
Christ the ruler of our soul,
Has made us whole again.

Poem of the Week for my great grandsons: Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah

CHOOSE TO BELIEVE

You believe you're strong and brave,
When wearing a superhero costume.
You believe you can fly-up-and-away,
While swinging on a swing all afternoon.

You believe you'll win as you compete,
When you choose to play a game.
You believe others will be sweet,
When you care for others the same.

You believe your treat will taste good,
When you choose to eat a candy bar.
You believe wheels roll as they should,
When you ride your bike quite far.

You believe you will have lots of fun
When you play with friends indoors.
You believe outdoors you'll jump and run,
When you play with friends once more.

Believing is important for you to do,
Choosing to believe in the Lord is too.
For He has chosen to believe in you,
And love you, your whole life through.
