Marcia's Poem of the Week 6.10.2022 “BROTHERLY LOVE”

1 John 4:10-12 New Living Translation “10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God.  But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.”

“BROTHERLY LOVE”

Begin with a prayer each day,
To remove misdeeds from your heart,
And choose to humbly serve always,
And show kindnesses from the start.

Seek to build up each other,
Where ever you happen to be,  
And live in peace now and ever,
Extending praises readily and free.

Do not grumble against foe or friend,
Speak truth from God's Word with love,
And assist in relieving another's burden,
By following the teaching of God above.

Forgive the offender and the offense,
Do not criticize another for wrong,
Compromise and recompense,
To maintain a love that's strong.

God lives in you if you love Him,
And He gives His Holy Spirit to you,
And love's brought to full expression,
When you love each other too.

“BROTHERLY LOVE”

Begin to talk to God every day,
And give your thoughts to Him,
He'll enjoy every word you say,
Listening again and again.

When you are sad, tell Him,
When you're mad, He'll say, bring it on,
For it is He who will listen,
While teaching you right from wrong.

Talk to Him when you're happy,
The Lord loves your good cheer,
He's given you a voice that's quite chatty,
Because it's from you He wants to hear.

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.”   “ ONE WHO SERVES”   Each En-Gedi God creates, Where a servant is assigned, Is to exemplify integrity, And bring unity to mankind.   To pray for those that serve, Is a joy and privilege, For the nature of a call, Is to love and encourage.   For together we are stronger, And together we are one, For God loves His people, And leads us through His Son.   Where we learn His holy word, And receive His Spirit's peace, We are sealed by His blood, Where fear and worry

Marcia's Poem of the Week 8.13.2021

  Marcia's Poem of the Week Reflecting on Genesis 45:4, 5, & 9-11 “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” Forgiveness is really difficult. But holding an unforgiving spirit can make one sick. This story was one of the best stories for me to understand that God shows us how forgiveness works. Joseph could have been angry with his brothers and with God. And who could blame him. How many times have you been angry with God or someone else? Joseph was able to see that God's work took time. You can be sure that when you are hurting God is working to make things right. Talk to God, be patient, wait and watch Him work. God will take care of you.  In Genesis 45 we can read how God took care of Joseph and his family. Genesis 45: 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer.
