Marcia's Poem of the Week 3.04.2022  "Your Steps Are Determined"

Proverbs 16: 1-4 & 7-9: 1 "We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. 2 People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives. 3 Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. 4 The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster. 7 When people’s lives please the Lord, even their enemies are at peace with them. 8 Better to have little, with godliness, than to be rich and dishonest. 9 We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps."

 “YOUR STEPS ARE DETERMINED” Proverbs 16: 1-4 & 7-9      

 In His steps you are to walk,

With His words you are to talk.

 

For His touch you are to yearn,

In His knowledge you are to learn.

 

In others eyes He'll make you shine,

And from His truth you can align.

 

For His love shows He cares,

And His goodness is always there.

 

It is Jesus, He's the one,

With a love you cannot earn,

And in Him all things are done.

 

Know His compassion is not for sale,

And His loving correction will prevail.

 

Know His eyes will give new sight,

While His truth makes things right.

 

It is Him you'll come to know,

Walking in His steps as you grow.

 

For every day He is the same,

And in your heart He will remain.

 

He is Jesus, He's the One,

It is through Him all things come, 

And in Him all things are done.  Amen

Poem for my great grandsons: Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah

Key verses taken from Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”And Ephesians 6-1: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”

 

“GOD'S PLAN”

 

As a boy you're to obey, 

And trust in God's holy way.

Many children are like you,

As parent's affirm things they do, 

Like saying, please and thank you,

And sharing with others too,

These things delight the Lord,

Making His promises assured,

And children are wisely taught, 

When parental love is brought. 

You've been sent by God above, 

To be kept safe and taught to love,

And you're corrected when wrong, 

So as to grow pure and strong.

These plans are chosen by Him,

To keep your heart safe from sin.

Keep on following God's plan, 

To mature into a godly man.

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.”   “ ONE WHO SERVES”   Each En-Gedi God creates, Where a servant is assigned, Is to exemplify integrity, And bring unity to mankind.   To pray for those that serve, Is a joy and privilege, For the nature of a call, Is to love and encourage.   For together we are stronger, And together we are one, For God loves His people, And leads us through His Son.   Where we learn His holy word, And receive His Spirit's peace, We are sealed by His blood, Where fear and worry

Marcia's Poem of the Week 8.13.2021

  Marcia's Poem of the Week Reflecting on Genesis 45:4, 5, & 9-11 “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” Forgiveness is really difficult. But holding an unforgiving spirit can make one sick. This story was one of the best stories for me to understand that God shows us how forgiveness works. Joseph could have been angry with his brothers and with God. And who could blame him. How many times have you been angry with God or someone else? Joseph was able to see that God's work took time. You can be sure that when you are hurting God is working to make things right. Talk to God, be patient, wait and watch Him work. God will take care of you.  In Genesis 45 we can read how God took care of Joseph and his family. Genesis 45: 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer.
