Marcia's Poem of the Week 2.04.2022

 

John 4:23-24 NLT, “But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.”

IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH John 4:23-24

So painful is discipline,
But more painful is sin,
Without the gift of doctrine,
What battles can we win?
 
If not for Truth given,
Obtained from God's Word,
We couldn't apply it to living,
Or spreading into the world.
 
Many times the smack of truth,
Is far more sweet and tender,
Than a violent crash of proof,
That deft deceit will render.
 
To hold onto God's way,
And receive a spiritual boost,
Worship Him every day,
In Spirit and in Truth.

Poem for my great grandsons: Jeremiah, Tobiah and Elijah
 
Isaiah 43:4 ...”Fear not for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are mine.”
 
My Dear Ones:
 
God's Holy Spirit shapes you,
Your name's pressed on His lips,
He sends heavenly angels,
To keep you in His grasp.
 
Fear not, it's you He redeems,
He knows everything about you,
On your behalf He intervenes,
There is nothing He cannot do.
 
His arms do enfold you,
Holding you wherever you go,
His light shines upon you,
So you'll thrive as you grow.

  Poem of the Week by Marcia 9/24/2021   “ONE WHO SERVES” Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on , Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table?   Marcia's Poem of the Week Reflecting on Genesis 45:4, 5, & 9-11 “GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU” Forgiveness is really difficult. But holding an unforgiving spirit can make one sick. This story was one of the best stories for me to understand that God shows us how forgiveness works. Joseph could have been angry with his brothers and with God. And who could blame him. How many times have you been angry with God or someone else? Joseph was able to see that God's work took time. You can be sure that when you are hurting God is working to make things right. Talk to God, be patient, wait and watch Him work. God will take care of you.  In Genesis 45 we can read how God took care of Joseph and his family. Genesis 45: 4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer.
