Marcia's Poem of the Week
“THE CHURCH”
Acts 2:42-47 NLT “The Believers
Form a Community”
Acts 2:42-47 42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. 43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity. 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
“THE CHURCH” Acts
2:42-47
Church is us working together,
For there's so much to be done,
There are many needs that matter,
Shelter, food and clothes for everyone.
And so much more to give,
All from His resources,
That can help many people live.
And also feeds our soul,
And from its holy treasures,
It makes lost ones whole.
The lonely receive a friend,
An orphan gains a family,
And hurt lives begin to mend.
And hardened-hearts are made soft,
Where a tender touch yields care,
And the forgotten are no longer lost.
We became friends of others,
And together we become family,
Made up of sisters and brothers.
Is the Bible School,
Where the teacher sits calm,
On a small wooden stool.
Come bounding in the door,
Eager and poised,
Full of energy and joy.
The children's singing begins,
Then each one takes a chair,
And immediately settles in.
Along with a page to color,
It is about Jesus's way of living,
And His walk upon the water.
The teacher says a prayer:
"Dear Lord, be with each one here today
And give them Your love to share." AMEN
