Marcia's Poem of the Week 1.07.2022

Marcia's Poem of the Week for January 7, 2022.

My thoughts are taken from Pastor Madigan's sermon last Sunday. It was titled “HOW DOES GOD TALK TO YOU.” regarding Matthew 4:1-4, "1.Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. 2. For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry. 3. During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread. 4. But Jesus told him, No! The scriptures say, 'People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.' ”

HOW DOES GOD TALK TO YOU? Matthew 4:1-4

Satisfy your hunger for God's truth,
Know when tempted He'll come through,
He may seem silent in times of training,
But faith is the reward for abstaining.

God will talk to you every day,
And give His spirit to guide your way,
But at times when you do not hear,
Know He is God; know He is near.

For He talks to you through His Word,
Making His thoughts and ideas heard,
And as long as you are willing to hear,
He sends gifted teachers to your ear.

And Godly friends and caring family,
Come to you equipped and willingly,
For they are called to guide your way,
And share God's love day by day.

So, if you are hurting and in pain,
God talks to you there just the same,
Be sure to fill your mind and heart,
With God's Word for a brand new start.

HOW DOES GOD TALK TO YOU? Matthew 4:1-4

Young one, what can draw you near?
That'll open your heart to the Lord so dear,
So you'll know His Spirit talks to you,
And helps you know His word is true.

You have His bible for your guide,
With gifted teachers at your side,
And your Godly friends and family,
Will bring the Lord to you lovingly.

When there's pain God can remove it,
And God's mercy will often prove it,
He talks in many ways in your life,
To comfort you and relieve your strife.

Remember, you are so much loved,
And cared for by the Lord above,
He makes you strong and makes you brave,
And gives you love that's heaven made.

OUR PRAYER:
Thank you Lord for your love and grace,
For the many ways we see your face,
For being there where ever we walk,
And for the many ways we hear you talk. Amen
