 “ONE WHO SERVES”

Reflection on 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at things people look at; people look at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” And on, Luke 22:27 “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.”

 

“ONE WHO SERVES”

 

Each En-Gedi God creates,

Where a servant is assigned,

Is to exemplify integrity,

And bring unity to mankind.

 

To pray for those that serve,

Is a joy and privilege,

For the nature of a call,

Is to love and encourage.

 

For together we are stronger,

And together we are one,

For God loves His people,

And leads us through His Son.

 

Where we learn His holy word,

And receive His Spirit's peace,

We are sealed by His blood,

Where fear and worry cease.

 

And in faith we work and live,

And consult with God in prayer,

Being made ready to forgive,

We cheerfully bond and share.

 

And being as one who serves,

The Lord looks at the heart,

And gives us all that's needed,

To serve as His counterpart.
