Marcia's Poem of the Week 6.09.2021

 I Corinthians 12: 12-27

“Now you are the body of Christ and each one of you is a part of it.”
"THE BODY" I Corinthians 12: 12-27
What is a body,
Without each part?
A mind to do thinking,
And feeling from the heart.
Lungs breathe in and out,
And they function too,
No matter what,
The hands or feet may do.
Our eyes see all around,
As we use our voice to speak,
And when the stomach pains,
The mouth wants to eat.
---------------------------------------
What is a church,
But a body too,
Made of many parts,
One me, another you.
And in this organism,
Christ is the Head,
And with us as His body,
He'll do just what he said.
It may not seem so,
As evil has its gain,
But we're wrapped in the love,
Of a God who does not change.
Hope fills tomorrow,
For we've found our home,
As part of God's eternal body,
Where we'll be forever One.
